Before my sweet friend, Melissa Sanches, introduced me to YL, I settled with the idea that maybe living in constant sickness was just a normal thing.
It was like clockwork:
The constant headache.
Covering up skin problems.
Battles with seasonal allergies.
Coughing & wheezing after a workout or performance- without failure.
Longing to crawl back into bed by noon.
Riding the hormone rollercoaster.
The anticipated Rx request as soon as the seasons changed.
And one day, she opened my eyes to something beautiful-
THIS. IS. NOT. A. WAY. TO. LIVE.
Merely “getting by” and covering up symptoms only to create more symptoms is no way to treat your body.
I wondered why my skin hated me- probably because of the junk I covered it up with.
I wondered why I suffered from a constant headache- probably because of the invigorating sodium laureth sulfate I massage into my scalp each day in the shower.
I wondered why I struggled with asthma and a tight chest each morning and after workout- probably because of the sprays, candles & waxes I regularly filled my environment with.
I wondered why my immune system continued to fail me, over and over again- probably because the products I used to “clean” my living space were only compromising my health.
I wondered why my hormones and emotions were all jacked up- probably because I fed my endocrine system with nothing but lotions, fragrances & perfumes.
I was doing a total DISSERVICE to my body, simply because
I just. didn’t. know. better.
And I would be doing YOU one doozy of a disservice by not sharing with you- that there is a better way.
We can’t walk around in plastic bubbles every day in hopes of protecting ourselves from all the things (I mean.. you could, but NERD ALERT!)
But if there’s one thing we CAN control in this world, let it be what we’re exposing ourselves and our families to within our home environments.
Be a REBEL. Ditch the toxins.
